It all began when my clients reached out to me after purchasing their land at Alegria Village in San Mateo, Costa Rica. As an architect, I was eager to meet with them virtually and help make their dream of living in this beautiful country a reality.
This family of Northern European origin has truly impressed me with their bold decision to leave their home country behind and embark on an exciting adventure in Costa Rica. And where better to build their new home than in the stunning Alegria Village, with its breathtaking views of the San Mateo mountain?
From the start, my clients had a clear vision for their tiny home. They wanted a comfortable and efficient space that maximized outdoor living, taking full advantage of the gorgeous weather and natural surroundings in Alegria Village. As an added bonus, they even shared some design inspiration images with me, which aligned perfectly with my own passion for simple and contemporary design.
After just a few weeks, I presented them with a design proposal that they absolutely loved. I couldn’t be happier with the outcome, as their satisfaction truly reflects my dedication to understanding their needs and translating them into a functional and beautiful design.
The layout of the house is simple yet effective, featuring a master bedroom with a designated work station for their remote jobs, a semi-outdoor bathroom with a luxurious bathtub, a bunkbed room for the kids, and a kitchen and TV area. But the real highlight is the spacious terrace at the back of the house, complete with a wooden pergola roof to provide shade and shelter from the elements. This will be their ultimate outdoor oasis, no matter the weather.
